PERUGIA — GIUDITTA BROZEZETTI

W Perugii byłam pierwszy raz, ale z pewnością nie ostatni (mam długą listę miejsc, które odwiedzę ;) I właśnie tam, odkryłam jedno z najpiękniejszych miejsc chyba w całych Włoszech. GIUDITTA BROZEZETTI, MUZEUM i PRACOWNIA TKACTWA ARTYSTYCZNEGO. Poznaliśmy właścicielkę i autorkę niemalże wszystkiego co zostało tam wytkane. Pomimo, że nie byliśmy umówieni, znalazła dla nas czas, dużo czasu. Opowiedziała nam o swojej babci która tkała, potem mamie i na koniec o sobie i technice żakardowej.

To muzeum to jedno z niewielu miejsc na świecie, i chyba jedyne w Europie gdzie można zobaczyć oryginalne maszyny żakardowe podczas pracy. Ale najbardziej interesującym „obiektem” jest Autorka i właścicielka pracowni :) Na przykład, potrafi Ona odnaleźć motyw tkacki na dziele malarskim z XVII w. (np. obrus), i odtworzyć go od samego początku, kolejno: rozrysowuje motyw na papierze milimetrowym, opracowuje każdy pojedynczy wątek na karcie perforowanej, wybija każdą kartę ręcznie, dobiera odpowiednią przędze, i tka. I to wszystko robi ona z pomocą tylko dwóch tkaczek! Podziwiam!

Co mnie zaskoczyło, żadna instytucja w Perugii, jak i w całych Włoszech, zupełnie nie docenia wartości jej pracy. Powinni nosić ją na rękach, za to, że kontynuuje tradycje tkackie. Jej wiedza i doświadczenie jest bezcenne. Miejsce które stworzyła, jest jednym z najczęściej odwiedzanych i podziwianych w Perugii (wg TripAdvisor).

I was in Perugia for the first time but definitely not the last one (I have a long list with places I’m going to see there). But the most beautiful place I saw there, is GIUDITTA BROZEZETTI, MUSEUM – WORKSHOP OF HANDWOVEN ARTISTIC TEXTILES. We met the owner of it, a women with a great passion for what she does. Despite the fact that we didn’t make an appointment before, we spent a lot of time talking about the story of weaving in her family, about her grandmother and mother, about the jacquard technique.

This is one of few places in the world and probably the only one in Europe where you can see the old original Jacquard Looms working. But still what is the most interesting in this place is The Owner :) For example, she is able to find the weaving motive on paint work from the 17th century (e.g. tablecloth), and to regenerate it from the very beginning, which means that she draws the motif up on graph paper, prepares pasteboard cards with punched holes by hand — each card corresponding to one row of the design, next she selects appropriate yarns, and after that she starts weaving. And what's more she does everything with the help of only two weavers! I admire her!

What surprised me, no institution in Perugia, nor in entire Italy appreciates the value of her work. They should leave no stone unturned and continue weaving traditions, her knowledge and experience are priceless. And the place which she created is one of the most visited and admired in Perugia (according to TripAdvisor).
